ABOUT OME CALLI CAFE

Ome Calli Café was born from both family and transformation. Before Ome Calli, Miguel, Antonio, Hector, and Liliana created The Mictlan Mexican Vegetarian Cuisine — a project rooted in the vegan and vegetarian Mexican dishes they grew up loving and sharing together. What began as a passion for flavorful, plant-based Mexican food soon became something much deeper.

During that journey, their son Leon was diagnosed with a condition that made food and nutrition an essential part of his everyday life. That experience completely shifted the family's perspective on wellness and inspired them to create a space where nourishing food could still feel comforting, familiar, and full of flavor. They wanted a place where Leon — and the community around them — could enjoy meals and drinks made with intention, care, and love.

As they continued building their dream, they also discovered how challenging it can be to grow a business while raising a family. Over time, The Mictlan evolved into Ome Calli Café, creating an opportunity for the entire family to work together under one roof while building a healthier balance between family life and entrepreneurship.

The name "Ome Calli," which means "Second Home" in Nahuatl, reflects the heart behind everything they do. More than just a café, Ome Calli is meant to feel like a warm embrace — a place where guests can slow down, connect, and feel genuinely cared for.

Today, Ome Calli Café blends Aztec-inspired culture, specialty coffee, wellness-focused drinks, and vegetarian and vegan Mexican flavors into a one-of-a-kind experience. Their organic coffee is roasted in-house, drinks are crafted with adaptogens and organic spices instead of artificial syrups, and the food is thoughtfully prepared to nourish without feeling heavy. Guests can enjoy vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free options while surrounded by earthy décor, plants, and ancestral touches that make the café feel both grounding and inviting.

Every member of the family plays a role in shaping the experience. Miguel leads menu creation and coffee roasting, Antonio brings years of hospitality and leadership, Hector oversees coffee operations and customer experience, and Liliana helps guide the growth and atmosphere of the café. Bety shares her love through the kitchen — especially with her famous vegan and gluten-free carrot cake — while Brandon, Randy, Luis, and Melisa help bring warmth and cariño into every dish and drink served.
